Ways to keep your battery charged longer while traveling
Charge your gadget whenever possible
Look for a power outlet even if your smartphone or tablet is 80% charged. When you’re on the road, you never know when the next stop is and whether there’ll be a chance to replenish your energy. It’s possible that those few extra percents will be decisive if you’re out of power for a long time.
Always use the original charger
When you’re going on a trip, you want to take smaller and lighter things with you. However, it’s better not to skimp on the charger. Take the one that came with your gadget, as it will provide faster charging and protection from voltage surges. Universal travel chargers may be smaller and lighter, but you shouldn’t trust them.
Take a tee with you
In places where tourists gather – airports, hotels, cafes – there are always not enough sockets. If you arrive a little later than others, you will have to wait your turn. In this situation, a tee will help out, thanks to which you can not only connect yourself, but also help other sufferers. Or charge several of your gadgets at once.
Use airplane mode
This mode turns off all wireless interfaces, including the radio module, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which drain the battery significantly. If you are not expecting a call and are not going to call anyone, you can activate airplane mode and do offline things. For example, read a book or listen to music.
Remove unnecessary programs
Every active user has a lot of them installed just “just in case, maybe it will come in handy”. However, these programs can quietly send and receive data, update themselves and conduct other background activity. All these actions consume precious energy. By the way, this is why many people think that the battery of a new device works better.
Remove everything from your smartphone that you definitely won’t need during your trip. You can immediately install these programs back upon your return — if you remember about them, of course.
Reduce screen brightness
A very obvious piece of advice that many people forget about for some reason. Turn off automatic brightness control and manually set the lowest backlight level that allows you to see the image on the screen.
It may not be very comfortable at first, but then your eyes will get used to it. And this is definitely better than being left without a phone at all.
Download all content before traveling
This applies not only to movies and music, but also to maps, books, and even articles from the Internet. If you save everything you might need on your trip in your smartphone’s memory in advance, you can safely turn off wireless interfaces, as we advised you in one of the previous points.
